KEENE, NH – One man is dead following a stand off with police Tuesday night.
According to a press release from the Winchester Police Department, officers were called to a residence on Elm Street around 11:45 Tuesday night after a female had been threatened with a firearm and had escaped the residence unharmed.
Following a preliminary investigation and a witness report of a single gunshot being heard, police closed down the street and the outer perimeter of the residence. After evacuating the building an all-night standoff ensued, coming to an end around 7:00 Wednesday morning when police gained safe entry into the building.
Once inside police located Rodney Labbe, 47, of Winchester, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.
