Winter Skin Care
Winter Skin Care

So it isn’t officially winter, by the calendar, yet but the winter weather has certainly made an entrance.

With winter weather, you can really start to think about how to protect your skin during these conditions and temps.

In an effort to counter the drying of heaters, consider blowing a warm or cool mist humidifier to soothe and calm dry and irritated skin.

Washing your face using hot water?  That’s a no no.  Hot showers and baths dry out the skin, damages the skin’s moisture barrier and prevents it from locking in the moisture.  Try using luke warm water instead.

Ever think about fighting dry skin from the inside?  Well, foods full of fatty acids like omega3’s help replenish the skin’s lipid barrier and protects against moisture loss.

Think fish, nuts, and plant oils like flax, soybean or canola oil.
