Green Juices
Green Juices

Today is National Green Juice Day and instead of telling you all the health benefits…I’m telling you to HOLD THE KALE!!

Just because it comes from a fruit or veggie does not mean that it’s healthy all the time — or totally harmless. Before juicing you need to be particularly careful if you have a chronic condition or are taking certain drugs,

It’s easy to assume that a juice is benign, but you may be surprised at how some juices don’t mix with your meds.

For example, grape juice can over enhance side effects of drugs and vitamin k- well, consuming too much of it can counteract blood thinners.

So, before you guzzle a green juice, take the time to research how the ingredients may react to your meds.

Now I know a lot of people think a green juice or a full-on juice cleanse will help them lose weight- Simply put, juice cleanses don’t work. The idea behind a juice cleanse is that drinking juice as your only source of food allows your body to rid itself of “toxins. And research shows that your body doesn’t need a cleanse, as it detoxes on its own

Juicing can be expensive and not all that beneficial and may even deprive your body of what it needs. My advice to you? Take a multivitamin and eat your fruits and veggies along with a well-balanced  diet.
