Furry Friends in Frigid Temps!
Furry Friends in Frigid Temps!

With bitter cold temperatures and wind chills approaching for the next few days, it’s important to remember all the people in your life & community but also our furry friends.

According to veterinarians, you have to remember that our pets are very much like us. They don’t tolerate cold.

if your pet has been outside too long, it’s imperative to bring them into a warm place and wrap them in blankets.

Older dogs& cats do not tolerate the cold as well and you want to remember that disease can play a part. If a dog or cat has underlying diseases, they won’t regulate their body temperature as well and if they have arthritis, just like us, arthritis will act up!

Of course, fur style also plays a role. Even if your pet has a big fluffy coat, you have to limit their outdoor time during freezing temperatures. while larger dogs with longer hair may be able to stay outside in the cold longer, they are still at-risk. Also, remember to never leave your dog or cat in the car alone during extreme temps.

And it’s a good idea to consider a sweater or a coat to make sure that they stay warm plus they look so cute!, However, you want to make sure their coat stays dry.
