Brain Fog

Experts are saying that people working from home is actually causing more brain fog throughout the day- trouble with memory, attention and thinking clearly.

Basically, this is happening because all the stimulating events of daily life – like buying a cup of coffee, going to a team lunch, and attending happy hour – disappeared when quarantine orders took effect.

I have got a few easy ways you can try to stay more alert during the work day and stave off that brain fog.

You can try to change the pictures on the walls in front of you.  Or take it a step further and switch up the room that you are working in.  A little bit of variety can go a long way!

If you can, work outside!  Meet with colleagues at a park or sit outside with your laptop and get through your work day outdoors!

It’s important not to try to push through the fog and continue to work. Also, remember the importance of taking breaks.  Get up, get a glass of water, take a walk outside. Whatever you need to do for 10- 15 minutes to help you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated so you can tackle the rest of your day effectively.

And, if need be, consider taking a mental health day….. listen to your intuition…it knows what you need!
